A rare goal by Luke Wilkshire saw Sydney FC leapfrog Melbourne City in the top of the table clash at AAMI Park on Friday night.
World Cup veteran Wilkshire broke a nine-year league goal drought by scoring the winner and credited a change of boots for finding the breakthrough in the 1-0 victory.
"I had a few good chances last week, and this week I decided to change (the boots)," the 36-year-old right back told Fox Sports. "I told the boys this time it will go in so hopefully it did.
"I was disappointed not to get one in last week, like I said, I got in good positions. This week was similar to last week...this time I put it a little more to the left."

The clash was goalless at the break but just before the hour mark, the home side went behind for the first time this season.
Michael Zullo fired the ball in for Wilkshire who hit it on the half volley, past goalkeeper Eugene Galekovic and into the far top corner.
Minutes later Joyce's men came agonisginly close to levelling the scores through Ross McCormack, and goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne was forced into a top shelf save to deny Bruce Kamau.
Wilkshire was delighted to see the Sky Blues on top.
"We kept moving the ball pretty well," the former Socceroo said. "I thought they sat back, especially in the first half. We moved the ball to try and open them up but it's difficult.
"That's where we want to be.(top), that's us, we're used to winning and keeping clean sheets which we've done tonight."
