Brisbane Roar has confirmed the transfer of winger Tommy Oar to Cypriot champions APOEL FC.
After making 24 appearances for the Roar during the A-League 2016/17 season, Brisbane’s left-sided attacker will return to European football.
Oar’s new club are in the mix to play UEFA Champions League football.
Roar coach John Aloisi thanked Gold Coast-born Oar for his contribution to the team during his second stint in orange.
“On behalf of the Club, I’d like to wish Tommy the best of luck with the next chapter of his career,” Aloisi said.
“To join such a successful European side is an exciting opportunity for Tommy.
“He has been a pleasure to coach, and we will follow his progress with great interest.”
The 34-time Socceroo made his Brisbane Roar debut in the A-League 2008/09 season going on to make over 50 appearances for the Roar during his two stints in Brisbane.
