In a shock development Olyroo Panos Armenakas' new Belgian club KSV Roeselare are folding just over a week after he signed for them.
In just the latest sideswipe in an incredibly rough career for the 22-year-old, Armenakas' new club has collapsed after off-field scandals and financial issues enveloped the club.
It's a double-blow considering Armenakas' last move, to Greek giants Panathiniakos, was soured due to off-field issues as well.
“There were a few other bigger name clubs interested but I just want to play football after a difficult time over the last year or so where things were out of my control," Armenakas said.
The Belgian second-tier club, which has a long and storied history in Belgian football and have previously featured many times in the Pro League, are "no more" according to Belgian media reports.
Sporza reports that the club's board of directors will file for bankruptcy tonight after failing to find a solution to their financial issues, after their sports director was arrested last week for sexual offences with underage girls.
"The club has bravely tried to look for a solution in the last days. There were 3 options, which all dropped out during the day due to lack of time."
"That is why the Board of Directors will have to decide this evening to put the books down." KSV Roeselare said in a statement.
The club dissolution leaves Armenakas looking for yet another club, with the youngster - previously one of the highest regarded young footballers in the world - now set to find yet another club.
