Celtic have claimed a second-successive victory of the season in the Scottish Premiership after a 2-0 win over Hibernian at Easter Road kept up their 100 per cent record.

Brendan Rodgers' side top the table as they continued their title defence, following last week's 4-0 defeat of Kilmarnock.

Nicolas Kuhn was well-placed to put the champions ahead after three minutes before Callum McGregor, who retired from international football with Scotland this week, produced a sublime long-range effort to seal maximum points.

Aberdeen remain hot on their heels in second, also with two wins from two, thanks to two second-half goals in a 3-1 victory at home to St Mirren.

Pape Habib Gueye opened the scoring before Toyosi Olusanya levelled matters in first-half stoppage-time.

Jamie McGrath's first-time finish put the hosts ahead for the second time, nine minutes after the break and Vicente Besuijen's header put the match beyond St Mirren's reach late on.

St Johnstone moved up to fifth after taking advantage of a Kilmarnock red card - for Joe Wright after 16 minutes for a second bookable offence - to dismantle their opponents 3-0 away from home.

Adama Sidibeh scored either side of Wright's dismissal and Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka scored from the penalty spot in the second half to add some gloss.
