Vidmar has selected the squad following a number of training camps over the past three months at the Australian Institute of Sport and he is eager to test this group of players as they embark on the qualification campaign towards the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup which will be held in Chile.

“The main purpose of this tournament is to give the players an opportunity to experience a different environment, playing conditions and styles of football,” said Vidmar.

“Our main is to play 6 matches under our belts leading into the AFC U-16 Championships qualifiers which we will play in late September.”

The Joeys will play their first match of the AFF U-16 Championship against Cambodia on 20 August, followed by the host nation Myanmar on 22 August, then Brunei on 24 August and their final group match will be against Vietnam on 26 August.

The top teams from each group will then face each other in the semi-finals on 31 August with the winners to meet in the final which will be played on 2 September.

The AFC U-16 Championship qualifiers will be held in Hong Kong from 21-29 September with the top two teams progressing to the AFC U-16 Championship which will be held in Thailand from  2014.
