Socceroo Jackson Irvine may be flying in the Australian national team but his Burton Albion continues to struggle, losing to Ipswich overnight in the English Championship.
The Aussie attacking midfielder's side lost 2-1 at the Pirelli Stadium and now sit fourth bottom of the league two points off the relegation spots.
Irvine, the top goal scorer for Albion this season, came close from a corner late in the half. His headed effort was blocked before he stuck out a foot and poked his second effort wide of the goal.
But it wasn't to be as Luke Chambers and Freddie Sears scored for the Tractor Boys after the break.
Lucas Akins for the hosts from the penalty spot offered some hope but it was too little too late as the Brewers were consigned to a costly home loss in front of just over 5000 fans.
