Giannou, 28, joined AEK Larnaca from Chinese outfit Guangzhou R&F in January and after a slow start is beginning to find form.

The five-time Socceroo, who wasn't named in Bert van Marwijk's maiden Socceroos squad earlier this week, netted AEK's second goal after 59 minutes in a 4-1 win away over PAEEK in the cup quarter-finals, which sealed an 11-1 aggregate win.

The goal comes only days after Giannou netted in the weekend's 2-2 league draw with Anorthosis.

Giannou, who hasn't represented Australia since October 2016, also netted in the first leg last week against PAEEK.

The former Greece youth international has now played eight games in all competitions for AEK since his move, netting three goals.

Meanwhile, PAEEK's line-up included three Aussies in Tomas and Jordan Maricic alongside ex-Sydney FC man Robert Stambolziev who was a 55th minute substitute.

Elsewhere, Tommy Oar put in a full shift as APOEL won their quarter-final first leg away to Nea Salamis 3-0.
