Adelaide United have bundled Melbourne Victory out of the FFA Cup, while Heidelberg United progressed after a dramatic penalty shootout over Sydney United on Wednesday.
The Reds crushed Victory courtesy of three second-half goals, after a goalless first-half where Taylor Regan's crunching tackle on Mitch Austin was the major talking point at Marden Sports Complex.
South Melbourne were far too good for 10-man Sorrento at Lakeside Stadium, triumphing 4-1 with Nick Epifano netting a double.
Gold Coast City triumphed 1-0 over fellow NPL Queensland opponents Moreton Bay United in extra-time at Wolter Park.
Newly crowned NPL Victoria premiers Heidelberg United reached the quarter-finals after a dramatic 4-3 penalty shootout win over Sydney United 58 at Edensor Park.
