Australia youth international Callum Elder has suffered a knee injury in Brentford’s 2-0 win away to Brighton and Hove Albion overnight.
Sydney-born 21-year-old left-back Elder had to be replaced at half-time after sustaining the injury.
Brentford boss Dean Smith said: βIt's too early to say about Callum Elder but it looks like he has just opened up his knee.
βHe was in a bit of pain and he felt that the knee was going a little lax.
βWe will have to wait until the medical team have a look to see what is wrong then.β
Elder is on a season-long loan at Brentford from Premier League champions Leicester City.
Gutted to have come off today, hopefully nothing too serious. Great result this afternoon big thanks to the travelling fans ππ» #brentfordfc
