Croatian Football Federation (HNS) President Davor Suker said on Sunday that he felt "devastated" after Croatia's loss in the 2018 FIFA World Cup final.
On Monday (AEST), France beat Croatia 4-2 in the final at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium to lift their second World Cup trophy.
"Even though I am smiling right now, but I am like dead inside," Suker said.
"It is so hard to get to the final and leave without a trophy... I would like to congratulate the team and the coaching staff.
"We are second and it is a great achievement, but on the other hand, we deserved the better... I want to jump into the Adriatic Sea. I am feeling devastated."
Russia's first-ever FIFA World Cup kicked off on June 14 and came to a close on Monday with 64 games played in 11 cities across the country.
