Loaned-out from Barcelona to Istanbul Basaksehir, midfielder Arda Turan faces as much as 12 years in prison after an alleged physical altercation with Turkish singer Berkay Sahin.

As per reports from Turkish media, Turan approached Sahin’s wife, Ozlem Ada, and made suggestive, flirtatious comments, prompting a violent reaction from the singer outside a nightclub in October 2018.

Sahin was later taken to hospital after his nose was broken in the altercation outside the Turkish nightclub.

From this point, the developments in the wild story become quite unbelievable.

Remorseful for his actions, the Turkish midfielder reportedly visited Sahin in hospital hours later to issue an apology for his behaviour toward the celebrity couple.

Allegedly, Turan had brought a firearm with him and asked Sahin to shoot him as penance for the renowned footballer’s actions.

When Sahin refused, Turan is reported to have fired a shot at the floor in anger.

Turan faces several charges including unlicensed firearm possession, sexual harassment, intentional injury infliction and shooting a firearm to cause panic, as reported by Spanish news outlet MARCA.

Following a disappointing spell at Barcelona and after being loaned out to Basaksehir in early 2018, Turan’s year only got worse from there.

The October nightclub incident came just a few months after he was red-carded and handed an incredible 16-match ban for pushing and threatening an assistant referee in May.

In regards to their nightclub altercation, both Turan and Sahin face charges, with the case postponed until June 19.
