Cologne fans have been banned from attending next month's Bundesliga match away to Hoffenheim following persistent crowd trouble.
The German FA's disciplinary committee today ruled Cologne supporters will not be allowed to attend the game on April 10, while the club have to compensate Hoffenheim for the loss of ticket revenue.
The DFB also fined Cologne, who have accepted both punishments, 30,000 euros.
"We have agreed with this and have therefore have avoided the worst-case scenario of a partial or complete exclusion of our fans from home games," Cologne general manager Michael Meier told www.fc-koeln.de.
The DFB highlighted five away matches in the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal between October 2009 and February 2010 in which "among other things pyrotechnics like firecrackers and flares" were set alight among the Cologne fans.
The matches were against Borussia Monchengladbach, Hertha Berlin, Bochum, Bayer Leverkusen and in the cup against FC Augsburg.
