The 18-year-old striker, who left Sydney to join the Ipswich Academy in 2015, made four appearances for the Tractor Boys late in the 2017-18 season.

He debuted in the League Cup in August, before breaking into the side with four Championship appearances in April, including starting against Reading in the penultimate round of fixtures.

Folami has now been rewarded with his maiden professional deal, a three-year contract.

โ€œItโ€™s great to get the contract sorted and Iโ€™m looking forward to hopefully an exciting three years at Ipswich,โ€ Folami told the club website.

โ€œTo be involved over the last month with the first-team has been brilliant. I have to be grateful first of all to Mick (McCarthy) and TC (Terry Connor) for giving me 45 minutes against Millwall. I never expected that.

โ€œThings have moved on for me very quickly over the last month and now I have to build on that.

โ€œI have had a taste of the first team now and my target for next season is to be involved at that level as regularly long as possible.โ€

Folami, who is uncapped at Australian youth level, will turn 19 in June.
