Atletico Madrid have reached a preliminary agreement with Monaco on the transfer of French international Thomas Lemar.
“Over the next days, both clubs will work to close the agreement for the definitive transfer,” Atletico said of the long-time Liverpool-target.
Lemar, 22, joined Monaco in July 2015 for €4m (AUS $6.2m) in 2015 but has reportedly been snapped up by Los Colchoneros for €60m (AUS $93m) .
The attacking midfielder has made 127 times appearance for Monaco and scored a total of 22 goals.

The French international, who has scored three goals for his country in the last 12 games, is set to take on the Socceroos in the opening Group C match at the World Cup on Saturday night (AEST).
They will also face Peru in Yekaterinburg on June 22 and Denmark in Moscow on June 27 (AEST).
